First impressions is one of the most important parts of presentation skills performance

When you give a presentation, you only have about fifteen to thirty seconds in which to make a first impression on your audience. In these first few seconds, you must grab your audience's attention. This is why your opening line is also one of the most important factors in making a presentation. One good way is to get the audience’s attention with a humorous line. Even if you don’t actually hear them, your audience is asking themselves "why should I care?" and "what's in it for me?". You have to respond to these questions. In other words you should give them a reason to want to listen to your presentation. If you can resolve those questions, you can now move on with your presentation. Top presentation skills are about simple things!
