Last month my company in Johannesburg, South Africa, arranged a rather unique and extravagant event for the fifty or so sales staff that had obtained or exceeded their sales targets for the year. As a thank you, they hired a plane and flew us all to Cape Town for the day.  But what they also did was to book two guest speakers to address the high-spirited sales team during the two-hour flight. Many companies use guest speakers to inspire their employees to achieve their goals and to help them remain positive in outlook and attitude, especially if the economy is somewhat depressed, which is the case today.   The first presentation was presented by a wildlife guest speaker or nature guest speaker and he had everyone spell-bound with his fascinating presentation that centred around those intriguing animals the meerkats - how they work together as a highly motivated and unified team.  The other guest speaker was a man who, according to his biography, spoke at venues in Pretoria and Gauteng as well as in London and Dubai and his presentation was inspirational and uplifting and proved to be the perfect motivator for the successful sales team ready to take on the world! Both guest speakers used props and costumes and included plenty of humour to help get their messages across. It turned out later, when talking to them over a few drinks, that both of them were jet-set speakers - travelling across all parts of the United Kingdom, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates.
