Interesting Facts: Changing History through Potent Motivational Speakers
Not all famous motivational speakers appeared in times of war. Often, a motivational speaker attempted to change things that were wrong with their country, their government, or in their personal lives. Queen Elizabeth the 1st of England gave a famous speech to the Parliament before she stepped down from the throne in 1601. She encouraged them to continue peace, spoke of her love for the country, and even of her love for the members of Parliament themselves. It is widely considered the greatest speech of that era. In 1851, Sojourner Truth spoke to women everywhere and to African Americans with her speech, "Ain't I a Woman?" It was intended to bring to light the hardships faced by African American women. It motivated them to seek respect from their employers if they were freed and freedom if they were enslaved. Of course, in this same vein, there was one of the most famous consultative motivational speakers of all-time, Martin Luther King, Jr. He was a simple man with a simple phrase: "I have a Dream." His words stirred change, allowing African Americans the courage to fight for their rights.
