Unusual Conventions and Guest speakers

There have been some truly famous guest speakers throughout history that have popped up in odd places. Here are some interesting examples of guest speakers who have attended strange and unusual events.

Weird Conventions and Guest speakers

Truly strange and wacky conventions often use guest speakers to attract thousands of attendees. Therefore these invitees must be somewhat relevant to the event that they're attending. Sometimes they are not sure what they're getting into, but often they enjoy their time speaking at these bizarre events.

Guest speakers at XenaCon

Cast members of the hit television show Xena: Warrior Princess attend the Official Xena Convention, held yearly in Los Angeles, California. The shows' stars, Lucy Lawless and Renee O'Connor, stop by to speak with convention goers. They answer questions about their characters, their time on the show, and talk about life after Xena.

BlobFest Attracts Odd Guest speakers

BlobFest is a film festival that takes place at the Colonial Theater in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. It celebrates the filming of the horror movie classic, The Blob. The Colonial was a prevalent set piece in the original film, and hundreds of people flock back to it for this fun yearly tradition. Wes Shank has appeared as one of the guest speakers at BlobFest since 2001. He is the proud owner of The Blob, the original prop used in the film. Wes keeps The Blob in its original can, and speaks about the importance of the film, as well as facts about the classic prop.

The UFO Festival

The UFO Festival is held in, where else, Roswell, New Mexico. It attracts thousands of oddly dressed flying saucer enthusiasts, as well as famed actor Malcolm McDowell! He has starred in numerous films and television shows, including A Clockwork Orange, "Star Trek," and "Heroes."
