The motivational speaker and inspirational speaker and Lack of Accountability

The balanced motivational speaker, a level-headed inspirational speaker, professional speaker or keynote speaker phenomenon with its accompanying motivational themes has both pros and cons. One of the cons is that the tremendous "people" emphasis might lead to a misunderstanding around accountability. Individuals that are responsible of misbehaviour should be kept accountable.  A useful tactic to address this kind of behaviour is to say: "Would it be ok with you, if I share some tough feedback with you."  This can be difficult, but it is important. A good tip is to remember that the emphasis should be on the wrong behaviour and not on the individual as a person. The great news is that a difficult conversation of this nature can translate in a very positive outcome with change behaviour. Getting back to the key theme of almost every motivational speaker, an inspirational speaker, professional speaker or keynote speaker on the circuit - people wellbeing are central to all initiatives and managers can give tough feedback and still demonstrate care for their employees.
