The Term “Motivational Speaker” in South Africa has become dirty

The phrase motivational speaker in South Africa has become a bit of a dirty one recently. Many seem to frown upon, or sneer at the idea of hiring someone to ‘motivate' with their speaking. And while admittedly, there is an ever expanding sea of "professionals" who go under this tag; this does not dilute the necessity of such a motivational speaker, nor the very real power that they bring with them to you as a business. An inspirational motivational speaker is a very different animal to the more directly business oriented orator that a company might hire to address management or staff. The typical motivational speaker does not typically address business structure, global issues, theory or practice of business. In fact, they themselves may well not be business people at all. The power of the outside speaker lies in their ability to reach across this gulf and touch the listener with their own personal story in such a way that it has a direct and meaningful impact on them and effects change. The well-liked motivational speaker can be amongst world class athletes, individuals who have overcome serious personal adversity such as disability, injury or ill health, highly successful entrepreneurs, spiritual teachers, and celebrities. What they have in common are stories of triumph, of overcoming challenges. They have distilled their experience into learnings, ideas and concepts that they are willing to share to help others overcome the challenges in their lives. It's not just about pretty stories that are moving and successful. The process goes far deeper than that, reaching out to personal motives and reasons for living and questioning them. If you are seeking an outstanding speaker, you have come to the right website...
