SA Motivational speaker or Inspirational Speaker: This is not a new industry!

By definition, an SA motivational speaker is someone who makes speeches intending to cause his or her listeners to act in a certain way. You would concur that one of the many a great inspirational speaker is Martin Luther King, Jr. His "I have a Dream" speech delivered on 28 August 1963, at the Lincoln Memorial was remarkably etched into the minds of countless of people, regardless if they are Americans or not. It is simply ageless. Till this day, he is still an iconic figure when you are talking about motivational speeches. What makes him so different from you and me? The key to being a great SA inspirational speaker is to be able to identify your target audience. Martin Luther King, Jr is so effective because he knows who his target audience is. By identifying his audience - the Negros, and being one of them, he is able to show that he fully understands the topic he was talking about. Not only must you have a deep knowledge of the topic as a SA motivational speaker, you must also be able to empathise with your target audience. Only when you show that you know the plight of your audience and what they have been through will you then form a bond with them. Creating a bond with your audience is crucial. You do not motivate people if they do not agree with you. More positive responses are expected from an SA motivational speaker point of view, when you have a bond with them, and they will be more likely to be induced into acting the way you intend them to.
